  • What hours and days are you open?
  • MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY 10 to 8p

  • What holidays are you closed?
    We are closed Easter Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Weekend and Christmas Eve until New Year's Day.

  • How do I sign up for lessons?
    Click "Reserve Lessons" now and send us a message about your interest.
    We will contact you within the next few days to set a time for you to come in and tour the facility.

  • Is there a long term contract?
    No, we do not have a long term contract.
    However, we do have a registration form that must be completed in person.
    We do have a 2 month minimum enrollment period that can be canceled with a 30 day notice before the 1st of each month thereafter.
    It takes time to learn an instrument.
    Most students study for an average of 3-5 years at Bartlett Music, but music is an ongoing journey of learning.
    Most of our instructors still meet with their mentors today.

  • What instruments do you teach?
    We teach private lessons on Piano, Voice, Violin, Viola, Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Tuba, French Horn, Trombone, and Baritone.
  • Do you teach keyboard?
    Yes. The keyboard and piano are fingered the same. The difference is key weight, damper pedals, and key size.

  • Should I buy a Keyboard or piano? Rent?
    Renting an Acoustic Piano is the best option.
    However, keyboards are used frequently for practice.
    Digital Pianos take up less space and are less expensive than acoustic pianos.

  • Do your teachers have degrees?
    All of our teachers have some form of higher education.
    We have several teachers currently pursuing Graduate and Doctorate Degrees at the University of Memphis.
    We also run background checks on each instructor to provide the safest environment possible.

  • Do you offer recitals?
    Yes.

  • What are the tuition fees / costs?
    $90 per month plus a one time $35 registration fee.

  • How long and often are lessons?
    Lessons are 30 minutes each week and are on the same time and day each week.
    Hour lessons are available for an additional cost.
    Our flat monthly rate includes a 30 minute lesson each week with the exception of major holidays.

  • Can we schedule both piano and another instrument for the same day and time?
    We have many families that take a multitude of classes on the same day.

  • How will long will it take to learn?
    This is a subjective question.
    Practice time and patience play a lot in to this answer.
    However, within 3-6 months each student will show some promise.
    Keep in mind that music is like a language.
    You can learn languages from all over the world and many different dialects of language from each culture.
    Music is very similar. There are many different music styles with their own philosophies and ways of playing them, so it takes time.

  • Do you offer make up lessons?
    If our instructor misses, the teacher is obligated to make up the lesson.
    We discourage missing lessons and strive for progress in every student.
    Missing lessons hinders the learning progress and decreases motivation and commitment.
    We do not offer make up lessons for students who miss lessons.
    However, most of our instructors will work with you on advanced notice of vacations or planned events.

  • For what ages do you offer lessons?
    We start as young as 4 and currently have adults as old as 80.

  • How do you match teachers to students?
    Each of our instructors are screened and are put through an intense hiring process.
    We are careful to only hire qualified nurturing instructors that will help you reach your goals.
    If there is a certain learning disability or other issue, please communicate that with our staff so they can pair you with the appropriate instructor.

  • May we have a trial lesson?
    Under most circumstances, we do not allow trial lessons.
    All of our instructors are independent contractors and work by arranged appointment.
    Under tax law, we cannot require them to be here for a set time unless it is a paid contract arrangement.

  • Do you rent band instruments?
    Yes. We carry all major brands. We are a Satellite Store for Amro Music.

  • May I return my Amro Band instrument at your facility?
    Yes.

  • Do you sell music supplies and instruments?
    Yes. We carry method books, reeds, starter guitars, strings, cables, marching band supplies, band instruments and more.
    We also have used consignment instruments.

  • Do you repair instruments?
    Yes.
    However, if the instrument was rented from Amro Music, it must be taken to Amro Music Store at 2918 Poplar Ave for repairs.
