<FONT="ARIAL black="" color="white"> FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Email us at bartlettmusicacademy@gmail.com, if you do not find the answer to your question. For more info about what ages to start lessons for each instrument, please click on the link above.

How do I sign up for lessons?
You must complete a registration form in our office. We open everyday at 10am except for Sundays we are closed. We close at 8p Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; 3p on Wednesday; 6p Friday and 2p Saturdays.

Is there a contract?
In order to keep organization, we have a registration form that must be completed in person. We have a 2 month minimum enrollment period that can be cancelled with a 30 notice before the 1st of each month. Please keep in mind it takes time to learn an instrument. Most students study for an average of 3-5 years at Bartlett Music, but music is an ongoing journey of learning. Most of our instructors still meet with their mentors even today.

What instruments do you teach?
We teach private lessons on Piano, Voice, Violin, Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass, Violin, Viola, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Tuba, French Horn, Trombone, and Baritone.

Do you teach keyboard?
Yes. The keyboard and piano are fingered the same. The difference is key weight, damper pedals, and key size.

Should I buy a Keyboard or piano? Rent?
Renting an Acoustic Piano is the best option. However, keyboards are used frequently for practice. Digital Pianos take up less space and are less expensive than acoustic pianos.

Are your teachers degreed?
Yes. Many of our teachers are pursuing graduate degrees. We also run TBI checks annually to provide the safest environment possible.

Do you offer recitals?
Yes. Our recitals are held twice per year around February and August.

What are the tuition fees / costs?
$90 per month plus a one time $35 registration fee.

How long and often are lessons?
Lessons are 30 minutes per week. Hour lessons are available for an additional cost. Our flat monthly rate includes a 30 minute lesson each week with the exception of major holidays. You will receive 4 to 5 lessons per month.

Do you offer family discounts?
Yes. $5 per student.

Can we schedule both piano and another instrument for the same day and time?
We have many families that take a multitude of classes on the same day.

How will long will it take to learn?
This is a subjective question. Practice time and patience play a lot in to this answer. However, within 3-6 months each student will show some promise. Keep in mind that music is like a language. You can learn languages from all over the world and many different dialects of language from each culture. Music is very similar. There are many different music styles with their own philosophies and ways of playing them.

Do you offer make up lessons?
If our instructor misses, the teacher is obligated to make up the lesson. We discourage missing lessons and strive for progress in every student. Missing lessons hinder the learning progress and decrease motivation and commitment. We do not offer make up lessons for students who miss lessons. However, with ample notice, some instructors will work with you if you have a vacation scheduled for the future.

For what ages do you offer lessons?
We start as young as 4 and currently have adults as old as 80.

How do you match teachers to students?
Each of our instructors are hand selected by our board of directors. We are careful to only hire qualified nurturing instructors that will help you reach your goals. If there is a certain learning disability or other issue, please communicate with our staff so they can pair you with the appropriate instructor.

May we have a trial lesson?
Under most circumstances, we do not allow trial lessons. All of our instructors are independent contractors and work by arranged appointment. Under tax law, we cannot require them to be here for a set time unless it is a paid contract arrangement.

Do you rent band instruments?
Yes. We carry all major brands. We are a Satellite Store for Amro Music.

May I return my Amro Band instrument at your facility?
Yes.

Do you sell music supplies and instruments?
Yes. We carry method books, reeds, starter guitars, strings, cables, marching band supplies, band instruments and more. We also have used consignment instruments.

Do you repair instruments?
Yes.
